The GLP Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was started in honor of Grant Lawrence Pavlis (GLP) to provide mental health and housing support for people struggling with mental illness in the Dallas area.
Grant's family including sister Allison, brother Chandler, mother Carole, father Bob , brother-in-law Nick, and step-father Van wanted a way to honor Grant's life and so started The GLP Foundation.
Grant was an adventurous child who grew up loving golf, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Mavericks. Although Grant was not diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia until later in life, he battled mental illness and addiction beginning as a teenager. As an adult, Grant struggled to find treatment that worked and a consistent safe place to stay. In 2016, Grant’s life was taken in a senseless act of violence. His family’s goal is to support people like Grant so that they have shelter, treatment, and are safe.
The GLP Foundation donates its funds to existing entities that support mental illness and homelessness.
